Chiropractic Services

  • Traditional treatment in which small restrictions in the movement of spinal or extremity joints are identified and corrected using a specifically directed force.

An adjustment by hand is the most popular and traditional way of correcting these restrictions and often times the most successful

  • A Chiropractic treatment performed on a special table that flexes and bends various muscles and joints. F&D is considered a safe alternative to back surgery, and helps restore the range of motion in joints and muscles after bringing the spine into alignment. It is commonly used to restore herniated discs, reduce headaches, and improve posture. During treatment, specific spinal joints can be targeted to bring about the greatest relief in the shortest amount of time. Additional information on the technique can be found at: Cox Flexion Distraction Technique.

  • A classic technique that aims to bring balance to the spine by correcting the dysfunction at the base of the spine (the sacrum) and the base of the skull (the occiput). SOT uses specifically placed “wedges” or “blocks,” to position the spine and pelvis back into its normal alignment.

  • A patented soft tissue movement based massage system, which is applied to remove scar tissue and adhesions from and between layers of muscles, ligament, tendon, fascia, and nerve tissue. The aim of these procedures is to restore normal biomechanics and enhance movement between tissues, increasing function and performance. ART is effective in the treatment of overuse or repetitive use injuries, sports related injuries, sciatica, shoulder pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, and a variety of other common pain syndromes. ART is “the Gold Standard of soft tissue treatment,” and requires many hours of instruction to become proficient. You can learn more at: ActiveRelease.com.

  • The Webster Technique is a specific Chiropractic sacral analysis and adjustment that is used to restore optimal movement and biomechanics in the pelvis, and remove any interference to the nerves of the pelvic region. During pregnancy, the hormones produced in the body have the effect of softening and loosening the ligaments holding the skeleton together. As this occurs, the bones of the pelvis can shift, placing tension and torsion on the uterus, constricting the space available to the growing fetus. The Webster Technique works to align the pelvis, remove tension on the uterus, and provide adequate space for the fetus to move into the head down position. This is a completely safe and gentle technique, and has been proven to be very effective. Visit the ICPA for more information: Webster Technique.

  • This technique uses a specialized table with segmented pieces that are elevated and set to a certain tension. Once a specific part of the spine is identified as needing an adjustment, a light force is placed through the spine, which causes the elevated part of the table to drop down. This technique allows for a more gentle Chiropractic adjustment, avoiding extra twisting and popping.

  • A small handheld tool called an Impulse Adjusting Instrument was specifically created to deliver gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities to relieve pain and restore function. The Impulse Adjusting Instrument® is a patented and FDA registered device, controlled by micro-computer circuitry housed within the device that produces a controlled force that chiropractors can use to treat different areas of the body. The tool delivers a consistent force with each adjustment, creating a gentle and effective treatment. An “Impulse” adjustment is safe and effective for osteoporotic patients, elderly patients, and patients who have a fear of manual adjustments. Impulse adjustments are high-tech. There is no popping or cracking with these adjustments, but rather very precise and targeted adjustments designed to specifically care for just the right areas.

  • Trigger points, commonly referred to as “knots”, are areas of injured muscles tissue that have become hypersensitive. It is thought that a build up of waste, a decrease of circulation, and a lack of proper oxygenation, causes these trigger points to be painful and persistent. Trigger points often develop in overused muscles due to the lack of recovery time between contractions. Trigger points have the ability to refer pain to predictable locations in the body, and can often times be misdiagnosed.  A combination of massage techniques, constant pressure, and stretching are used to treat these areas.

  • Moist heat therapy is used to calm and relax tight and painful muscles. This therapy is often used before an adjustment in order to relax muscle spasm, calm irritated nerves, and allow the joints to move more easily.

Ice therapy is the most natural and one of the most effective ways to reduce pain and inflammation. Ice or an ice pack may be recommended after an injury, to soothe a migraine headache, or after a particularly invasive muscle treatment. If you have any questions about when Ice therapy is appropriate, don’t hesitate to ask.

  • After your doctor performs a thorough examination and evaluation, a personalized treatment plan will be created to promote strength and stabilization. The patient will be instructed on specific exercises to strengthen weakened muscles, and targeted stretches to lengthen tight, shortened muscles. All of these procedures will be performed to patient tolerance, and at a speed that is comfortable but challenging.

Massage Therapy Services

  • A deep tissue technique that requires the use of light touch to release restrictions of the fascia and improve circulation of the Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF). Can help manage the symptoms of Autism, Dementia, Stroke, Concussions (or Concussion Syndrome) and more.

  • An ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that uses glass, plastic or silicone "cups" to create a vacuum over an area of muscle tissue. This suction force helps to break up restrictions in the fascia and enhance circulation to help treat pain and dysfunction. This technique can sometimes leave bruising of the skin but is very rarely a painful technique to receive.

  • A way to describe the therapeutic effects of massage therapy. "Deep tissue" massage employs a variety of techniques (trigger point therapy, myofascial release, etc) in order to release restrictions within or between different structures in order to relieve pain, improve range of motion, and increase bloodflow.

  • We provide a variety of massage therapy techniques including:

Swedish (relaxation massage), Sports, Pregnancy, Reiki, and clinically oriented therapeutic massage. We also provide Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, and forms of therapeutic stretching.
